It’s Super Bowl Time! Even if you don’t like football, or even don’t care that much, not many people can turn away friends, a good time, funny commercials, and delicious snacks. This recipe has been floating around on Pinterest so I decided to give it a try. It gets my approval! And I was able to use my new kitchen toy! I only made 1 change which was to help control/decrease the sodium. Perfect for the game! Serve with lowfat tortilla chips. Don’t forget your other healthy snacks too like veggies w/ hummus, fruit kebabs, and turkey burger sliders
Easy Salsa (see my changes to the original in red)
- 1- 14 oz can no salt added diced tomatoes
- 1- 10 oz can tomatoes with green chilies
- 1/2 small onion, roughly chopped
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and smashed
- 1/2-1 jalapeno, seeded or not (depends on how spicy you like it)… I seeded mine and salsa turned out medium spicy
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- small to medium size handful of cilantro, washed
- juice of 1 lime
Put all the ingredients in food processor or blender and pulse to combine for about 30 seconds or until salsa reaches desired consistency. Adjust seasoning as needed. Serve with baked tortilla chips.

I also came across this article with fantastic and fun exercise activities to do during the game! That’s right! Enjoy football and stay on track with all your friends
